Electrical and Mechanical Alterations

Solace was contracted to make electrical and mechanical changes to the reception area and basement of Marble Arch House. The scope of work included:

• Installing new pendant, track, and LED strip lighting in the reception area
• Installing new linear and can type light fittings in the basement, stairwell, and bike store
• Installing two automatic doors in the stairwell leading to the bike store, including access control and fire interfaces
• Adding sockets for new Sonos speakers and hair dryers in the basement area
• Incorporating duct work into the existing AHU ducting for new drying racks
• Relocating and installing a new cleaners’ sink in the bike store

One challenge Solace faced was installing the lighting in the basement hallway due to the small space. However, they overcame this by using a different uni-strut technique to ensure a clean install with all lighting centrally located in the corridor. All work was completed within the budget and timeline, while minimizing disruption to residents.
