AC101 – Extraction/Life Safety Systems Upgrades

Social Housing Contract

Solace MEP working on behalf of city of Westminster council were appointed to complete upgrades to domestic dwellings within the social housing sector.

The project consisted of upgrade/installation of state of the art extraction systems to occupied properties.

Positive input ventilation (PIV) fans were installed to promote air-flow and prevent damp/mould from reoccurring within dwellings, especially the older properties within the local authority assets.

Smoke detection was also upgraded to suit latest regulations as prescribed by BS-5839 and Fire Safety Act-2021

Optical smoke detection was installed to all principle habitable rooms as well as all dedicated escape routes within the property.

Fixed point heat detection was installed to areas deemed to be “high risk” whilst carbon monitors were installed to properties with natural gas supplies.

All life safety systems were integrated to the existing LV systems and house-coded to provide comprehensive fire safety within the property.
